Marlou

Panget, Pininig, Chaka, Kadiri—are only some of the few words that you will find online when you search for Marlou Arizala’s name on social media sites. Marlou’s name started going around after a photo of his former group trended around facebook. Among the 5 members of the so called Hasht5, Marlou caught most of the netizens attention due to his red-colored hair.

From here, Marlou became one of the top jokes in social media. People started calling him names and making memes of his face not thinking of the consequences they might face.

But somehow this young gentleman managed to turn the table around. He did jump into the fun and let people laugh at him while brands and TV networks started noticing him.

He became the face of Flawless, Beauty Begins Here — where his pinipig-like face, gone and the flawless Marlou talking about how people bullied him because of his physical appearance.

Brighter days came across him as he was tapped not just for interviews regarding cyberbullying but also for TV appearances that somehow helped him to his financial needs. He became regular at ABS-CBN’s Sunday sitcom, Home Sweetie Home and still making Filipino vines videos on the side.

The old takatak boy who gets to eat once every four days is now a talent with Php 10,000.00 fee every appearance and serves as the breadwinner of his family.
